Technology in the Classroom

Technology is such an important part of our world today. The use of technology will only increase as time goes on. Because of this, it is very important that technology is used and taught in the classroom.

I have had many positive experiences involving technology throughout my education. One of my history teachers here at BYUH used technology to help our class learn in a more interesting and beneficial way. He had our class split into small groups. Each group then made a creative film in which we analyzed, explained, and acted out a part of a book we had read. In class we then watched all of the films. By doing this type of project, it made the book we were reading so much more interesting. It also helped me and I'm sure all of the other students to learn and remember what we had read.

I frequently use the internet to obtain information for projects. Many of my teachers find information, videos, and other sources from the internet. I have taken many classes that require knowledge and use of technology. Because of this, when I am a teacher I will use technology to help my students. The is a great way to find many sources of information quickly. Using technology to show videos is a great way to help students learn. One reason why technology is so beneficial is because it allows teacher to be creative and teach in many different ways. Although I have used technology a lot, there is still a lot I would like to learn. One thing I would like to learn is how to make my own website. When I am a teacher, I would like to have a website that will display what we are working on, upcoming projects, helpful tutorials, and students work for them and their parents to view. By using technology in the classroom, I feel it expands the methods teachers can use when teaching.
